outsoles

The Vans Snowaffle Series of outsoles are designed to optimize feel and control, minimize the impact absorbed during hard landings, and reduce potential foot fatigue created by long days of shredding.

flex control

Removable tongue stiffeners allow riders to custom-tune their boot flex. Slide them both in for maximum support, use just one to provide either increased lateral or medial response, or leave them out for a softer flexing boot.

boa technologies
1. BOA FOCUS
Featured on the men’s Cirro, two reels operate three specific zones of closure for the ultimate in custom fit adjustment. Unlike other Focus options on the market, all instep components have been eliminated from the Vans system to allow for the addition of asymmetrical articulation, providing additional flex to the medial side while maintaining lateral support and response.
2. DOUBLE BOA
Featured on the men’s and women’s Aura boots, two reels control two specific zones of closure. The tongue dial controls the upper portion of the boot, while the side-mounted dial adjusts the lower portion of the boot, providing greater freedom of flex and articulation.
3. HYBRID BOA
Featured on the men’s Infuse, Revere, and the women’s Ferra, the Hybrid BOA configuration represents the best of both worlds, combining traditional laces with BOA closure focused on the critical instep area of the boot. This configuration allows a rider to lace their boots tighter than what can be achieved with traditional laces, as well as make on-the-fly adjustments. The addition of the new Custom Slide Guide allows you to further customize the instep fit.
4. BOA POWER CUFF
Featured on the men’s Matlock, the Power Strap controls upper closure, while the remote side-mounted BOA reel controls the instep and forefoot closure. Two quick and easy adjustments combine for secure and responsive zonal closure.
5. BOA COILER
Featured on the men’s and women’s Encore and women’s Extent, this tongue-mounted single reel system utilizes a spring-loaded lace spool to automatically retract lace cable slack for quick and efficient closure. Different lace guide radiuses are used to optimize closure force in specific areas of the boot.

VANS FLEX METER
Selecting a boot with the right amount of support is one of the most important decisions a snowboarder can make. The flex rating provides a reference of how boots within the Vans line compare in flexibility. A lower number designates a softer flexing boot, while a higher number designates a more supportive boot. Boots equipped with the Vans Flex Control System will have three numbers showing the range of flex the boot can be adjusted within.
